Carramar
(Formerly the Priory)
- Building refurbishment
- Georgian listed building
- Thatcham, Berkshire
Thames Ceilings was delighted to work with mental health charity Response in an important community project to transform a run-down historic building into a warm and welcoming home.
Oxfordshire-based Response works with the NHS and local authorities to provide mental health services.
The project brief was to turn the cold, empty shell of an unused Georgian listed building, into Carramar, a safe and homely place where people can acclimatise themselves to independent living whilst having the reassurance of an on-site support team.
During the refurbishment, Thames Ceilings overcame dry rot, poor past works and a host of unforeseen issues to turn architects Jessop & Cook’s design into high quality reality.
Carramar is a great example of the diverse projects Thames Ceilings and our trusted partners are able to deliver.
